The BUS grant continues through at least 2028, providing £7,500 for air source heat pump installation. Budget doubled to £295 million. Air-to-air heat pumps became eligible from April 2026 at £2,500. EPC requirements relaxed. Over 100,000 applications processed. Applied through your MCS-certified installer (we handle it).
Warm Homes Local Grant (Up to £15,000)
Replacing ECO4 from 2027, the Warm Homes Local Grant provides up to £15,000 for energy efficiency improvements in eligible homes. Delivered through local authority partnerships, it covers insulation, heating upgrades, and ventilation improvements. In Cambridgeshire, the Action on Energy scheme administers £8.5 million in Warm Homes Plan funding. Eligibility is income-based and property-condition-based.
0% VAT and Smart Export Guarantee
The 0% VAT on residential solar and battery installations was confirmed until 31 March 2027, saving homeowners £1,000-£2,500 per installation. Check current status for extensions beyond this date. The Smart Export Guarantee continues, but the headline time-of-use tariffs (Octopus Flux and Intelligent Flux, up to ~29-32p at peak) are closed to new customers. Rates open to new sign-ups run ~10.5-16.5p/kWh, with installer-exclusive bundles reaching ~24-25p on conditions. The Workplace Charging Scheme provides £350 per EV socket for businesses (up to 40 sockets).
