UK Renewable Energy Installers Directory
Green Hat Renewables directly covers Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. For the rest of the UK, we partner with carefully vetted MCS certified installers. Every partner has been personally verified — and each one has a detailed regional guide covering 2026 costs, grants, and installation data.
Find a Regional Guide
Each guide below is written by our team and published on our blog. They cover local installation costs, grant eligibility, irradiance data, council-specific planning, and a recommendation to a locally-based MCS certified installer. None of these are paid listings.

How We Vet Partners
We only list installers that hold or work with MCS certification. Beyond the baseline, every partner is checked for: local presence (not a call-centre lead farm), quality of recent installations, responsiveness on after-sales, and genuine understanding of their regional market — coastal properties, conservation areas, rural off-gas-grid homes.
We earn nothing from these referrals. This directory exists because turning customers away without a recommendation does them no favour.
Why MCS Matters
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the UK standard for small-scale renewable energy installation. MCS certification is required to claim the Smart Export Guarantee for solar, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme £7,500 grant for heat pumps, and most local authority schemes. It is also a pre-requisite for 0% VAT eligibility.
Every installer in this directory is MCS certified or works exclusively with MCS contractors for the installation work.
